Most of the unhappiness, isolation, and loneliness we ourselves experience and see around us every day stems from a lack of kindness. Have you ever met a person who is suffering from just too much kindness?
Kindness, simply put, is when a person sees another person’s unmet need– whether it’s a need for safety, companionship, hunger, wanting a person to eat with, recognition, accompaniment to a medical appointment, etc.–and takes action to meet it. Actual, concrete action. Without transaction, without cost, but just for the sake of being kind.
The purpose of a Kind Group is to help people come together to address their unmet needs while addressing the needs of others. We wish to do this in a way that is mutually protected and secure, and that values the agency of each member while building functional community.
We are all kinds of people born into all kinds of conditions having lived all kinds of life experiences all seeking kindness in community. We are a peer-led support community of people seeking to be kind. We offer a peer-led support group format, group relational agreements, and community guidelines for people to use freely in starting their own support groups and building community together.
Kindness helps people eliminate causes of invisibility, disconnection, and enmity, and benefits people coming from all conditions - abuse, neglect, loneliness, and even those coming from war, torture, and horror. To eliminate the obstructions to community and harmony, we want to include and make visible people from all conditions together, to just practice kindness.
